There is no difference in the amount of guide rod sticking out of the slides until the slides are installed on the frames. The area that engages the wide ends of the rods appears to be the same. Can't push the guide rod rearward. Weird.

The gun works perfect. But when disassemble the guide rod goes back to its proper position. Is this normal. Here are some pictures.

They must have machined that original guide rod too long. I only have two Glocks, and both are box-stock factory, but they don't do that. 1 - 8 of 8 Posts.

I purchased a new Gen 3 Glock 19 and after only having put about 500 rds through it I replaced the recoil assembly with a steel guide rod and a Wolf factory standard weight recoil spring. After about 1,000 rounds and several cleanings the slide began to 'stick' during forward movement.
Get Price2013-11-6u2002·u2002I think the spring got stuck in itself, so that the rear end of the spring (where the metal end cap is attached to the plastic guide rod) doesn't seat against the barrel lug like it's supposed to, instead, the plastic guide rod sticks out of the muzzle. I would send this picture to Glock, I am sure they will send you a new recoil spring assembly.

I also use the Jager captured rods. If you are changing spring weights then the extended uncaptured is great. If you are sticking with a certain spring weight then I prefer the captured.

That was on my G-21, a friend ordered one for a gen4, but mistakenly ordered a gen3 rod. So rather than returning it he gave it to me. It is a Stainless Steel Rod, and I can not tell any difference at all in the way it shoots or feels.
